In the year of 2014, the bubble tea business was founded by Joel and he first started as a small bubble tea business at The Spring Mall, Kuching, Sarawak. Since then, the bubble teashop owned by Joel has been attracting large number of visitors to the store which offered great opportunity for the expansion of his bubble tea business. Joel's has opened a total of four branches located in different areas in Kuching in the year 2020. 

In order to be part of the viral food trend, Joel loves to explore as much opportunities as possible to make his bubble tea business stand out of the crowd among all other industry players in Kuching. Instead of selling milk tea of a wide selection of flavors with tapioca balls, Joel's managed to put unique spins on this popular food trend and produce more than just bubble tea to target a larger customer base. Joel’s includes fruit teas and yoghurt teas specifically for health-conscious customers as well as mouth-watering desserts like cakes to fit customers who wish to switch taste and preferences.

Additionally, with the existing well-done personnels, Joel's has started to expand the existing store to cultivate an even more extreme bubble tea experience with the aesthetic appeal (e.g. furniture with the theme of bubble tea, artsy backgrounds and mascots in stores) to attract customers who love to post pictures of more elaborate drinks and unique atmosphere in a bubble teashop on social media.​
